With Unity and Hope, We Will Defeat Coronavirus

Humankind has gone through many crises and has witnessed many epidemics, diseases, and famines. History tells us that man was able to overcome those ordeals, but with hope, strength of will and faith in a better tomorrow. People came out of all these challenges more healthy and well. Facing the difficulties shows the best of the values of human cooperation, helping one another and thinking about innovative and useful ways to solve any problem.

From this point, we should all be sure that together we will win the war against coronavirus. This certainty starts firstly from the belief in human determination, and secondly by the conviction that scientists in their laboratories, and doctors and health teams in the field are working relentlessly. Some of them make experiments, and others think about new and impressive medicines. Of course, there are also those who look after patients such as nurses. The health system in the whole world and its various levels is active and ready in order for the crisis to pass in peace, to restore our peace of mind, and life returns to normalcy. Inevitably, our usual life will return and we must believe in this. For that, every one of us should work to achieve this hope as soon as possible.

Our faith in our beloved homeland is growing every day, since the UAE has over the past five decades given citizens, residents and visitors, confidence and comfort. Today, our hospitals are at the highest level of readiness, our health personnel have international specifications; we have an enabling environment at all levels that assists us to control and eliminate this virus. We have the resources that make the distance learning experience a living reality, and we see its success every day.

Our wise leadership assured us in a confident and strong tone that there will be no fear or anxiety in the UAE now and in the future about the basic needs of the people. In addition, we have laws that everyone respects, and we have enjoyed the discipline and commitment that our dear country taught us over the years.

Thus, staying at home, as the entire world sees it as the most important step for success in dealing with this virus, will not lead any person to feel isolation, loneliness or fear. From home, one can work, study, read and visit virtual museums through UAE’s ultra-modern technical system that works round the clock; so, it is time to count on it more.

We will win the war against coronavirus when we literally apply the proper healthy rules, use our infrastructure skillfully and regularly, and listen to our wise leadership and translate it into living behavior on the ground. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said, “Coronavirus is a health virus, an economic virus, and a political virus too... and we say to all the countries of the world: It is time for unity, cooperation and solidarity to fight the worst enemy of humankind. All differences diminish in the face of this challenge and the world can overcome it faster if the strong stood with the weak and the rich with the poor.”

Surely, we can overcome this dangerous enemy by standing behind the leadership of our beloved country in single-hearted unity. Our leadership has always taught us how to face the challenges and walk towards a brighter future.
