MBRF showcases latest publications at Cairo International Book Fair 2025
Cairo – 3 February 2025 - The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) showcased its latest publications at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair 2025, further underscoring its commitment to enriching Arabic knowledge content. These new publications cover a wide range of subjects, including linguistics, literary criticism, children's literature, and science, reflecting the foundation's dedication to fostering intellectual development and expanding Arab cultural influence worldwide.
One of the key publications highlighted was the revised edition of ‘Al-Ashbah wa Al-Nazair fi Al-Nahw’ by Imam Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, a renowned linguistic scholar, carefully edited by leading Arabic language scholars. Another addition to the collection is the ‘Al-Ghani Al-Zahir Dictionary,’ a comprehensive linguistic resource featuring over 66,000 entries and 10,000 usage examples, including 2,000 Quranic verses.
MBRF has also released the ‘Global Warming’ series, which aims to raise awareness among young people through accessible language, engaging illustrations, and interactive content. Furthermore, the ‘Dubai: Places and Names’ book delves into the historical and geographical evolution of Dubai, providing insights into the meanings and origins of its place names, complete with maps and photographs.
Publications in the field of literary criticism include ‘Aesthetics of the Frame: A Reading of Parallel Texts,’ by Ahoud Mansour Hijazi, which analyses visual structures in poetry, and ‘The Whisper of the Creek: A Study on the Life and Works of Ibrahim Bu Melha’ by Obaid Ibrahim, which highlights the literary and cultural contributions of the esteemed Emirati writer. Other releases include ‘Transformations of Poetic Experience’ by Dr Montadhar Hassan Al-Hasani, ‘Disciplinary Body Representations in Fictional Imagination’ by Ameera Bint Humaid Al-Ghamdi that analyses the work by George Orwell in 1984, and ‘Semiotics of Narrative: Tales of Our Mother Tree’ by Sumaya Ali Rahif, a psychological and social critique of short story structures.
Additionally, the foundation presented Dr. Khalid Abdul Fattah’s ‘Sciences of Knowledge,’ an in-depth analysis of the sciences of knowledge, their mechanisms, and their contributions to societal advancement.
Furthermore, MBRF released ten captivating children’s stories developed under the Dubai International Program for Writing. The titles include ‘The Daring Musician,’ ‘The Balloon with Eyes,’ ‘Biyoud,’ ‘Dafdoofa Jumps with Joy,’ ‘Outside the Fur, Inside the World,’ ‘The Crystal Case,’ ‘Painting with the Flute,’ ‘Noah’s Pillow,’ ‘The Disappearance of the Holiday,’ and ‘Azouz, the Old Seagull.’
